Department of Insurance
Utah operates under a File & Use rate regulation system where insurers may implement rates within 30 days after filing, except for workers' compensation and title insurance which require prior approval. The state uses a no-fault auto insurance system and has expanded Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act. Utah is recognized as a leading captive insurance domicile with a separate captive insurance division.
