Workers' Compensation Maximum Weekly Benefit Increase

Increases the maximum weekly compensation payable to injured workers from 102% to 108% of the statewide average weekly wage, resulting in higher benefit caps for temporary and permanent disability benefits.

Injured workers receive higher wage replacement benefits, with maximum weekly benefit increasing to $1,481.76 (October 2024) and $1,536.84 (October 2025).

Life Insurance Suicide Clause Reduction

Reduces the permissible suicide exclusion period in life insurance policies from two years to one year. Requires insurers to refund all premiums paid if death benefit is denied due to suicide within one year of policy issue.

Life insurance beneficiaries gain earlier access to death benefits after suicide, with exclusion period reduced from 24 months to 12 months for policies issued on or after January 1, 2024.
